Contract Scope

  • The work to be provided by the Contractor shall include the provision of management, supervision, safety officer, administration, technical expertise and support, skilled labor, materials, consumables, equipment, services, tools and expenses necessary to complete this project (other than that which may be stipulated in the Contract Documents), to complete the work of this contract.

     

  • Products and materials supplied by the Contractor shall be new and meet all requirements of the Specifications.

     

  • Requirements of OH&S, local safety legislation, regulations and VALE corporate safety policies and procedures shall be fully complied with for this project.

  • Additional contract terms and requirements will be provided with the Tender Package.

     

     

    Project Scope Summary:

     

  1. Admin:

  • Industrial Hygiene Office: Construct two new offices for industrial hygienist. This project includes the following: installation of new partitions, new cabinets, plumbing for new sinks and new electrical outlets.

  1. Site Services Workplace Improvements:

  • Generator Access Platforms: Install new platform to allow for safe access to service air filters on generator #2 in power house. Install new removable platform extensions on both sides of the engine to allow for safe access to service turbo on generator #2.

  • Note: Detailed Scope of Work will be included in the “Issued for Pricing” package that will be forwarded to the Bidders by the Vale Purchasing Department.

     

  1. Concentrator Workplace Improvements:
  • Glycol Heating System: as part of the phased plan -Add a soot blower to the six existing heat recovery economizers in the power house.

     

  • Exhaust Fan UPS: Install a UPS for two existing exhaust fan hoods located in a wet lab. This will allow any gasses present to be exhausted in the event of a power outage.

  • Enclose Crusher Lubrication Skid in Primary Crusher: This project includes installation of the new partition wall to reduce the amount of dust entering the room. Installation of the new SO2 alarm and relocation of the electrical disconnect switches.

  • Sag Mill Discharge Jib Crane: Purchase of a jib crane for the discharge end of the Sag mill, used for liner replacements. The jib crane is from the designer of the Thunder Bolt. This project includes structural modification of the floor system.

  • Galvanic Corrosion Protection Systems: This project consists of the following:  Installation of the corrosion protection system specifically sized for dimensions of the Reactor Clarifier.

  • Concentrator Lighting Improvements: Replace all existing metal halide high-bay lighting with LED equivalents in the Dewatering area. The new lights are to include a plug-in option that will allow for easier maintenance in the future.

  • Repair roof leaks at concentrator building around the MCC room.

  • Install safe access platforms for following equipment:

Cu Ni Sep Sampler access platform – Dewatering area

Lime Valve access platform - Dewatering area

Spider Nut access platform – Primary Crusher

Pebble Crusher Lube Hydroset Hoses access platform – Pebble Crusher area

  • Note: Detailed Scope of Work will be included in the “Issued for Pricing” package that will be forwarded to the Bidders by the Vale Purchasing Department.

     

  1. Concentrator Process Improvements:

  • Reconfiguration of Cu Circuit: Install new Victaulic piping and associated valves and supports.

  • Larox Filter Flush and Wash Water Piping: Replace Larox Filter Flush and Wash Water Piping. Due to excess scaling on the interior of the pipe which is causing maintenance issues to the Larox presses. The replacement consists of three pipes from the Fresh Water Tank to each Larox.

  • Cleaning in Place (CIP) system for the Larox Filters: Install one engineered system on Larox #2 from Outotec (OEM) to test the packaged system. Comprised of spray nozzles located in difficult to reach locations identified by Larox. This project also includes installation of the new piping for water supply.
